Well it’s happened. The Presidential campaign has taken a turn for the worse and the angry mobs that follow Gov. Palin are starting to scare me. They may actually start terrorizing this country with threats and action. It’s 2008 and there are people who still harbor more hate towards people they don’t know than I can imagine. It’s too sad for this country. I thought we had come farther along than this. I hate to say this, but I fear that Palin doesn’t not plan to be a good President for all of the people who reside within the US. She, also, doesn’t plan on being a good world citizen. I say “President”, because John McCain is old and it clearly shows and his campaign has totally been hi-jacked by his vice-presidential nominee. I actually like John McCain, although I wasn’t planning on voting for him. I hope he can rise above this and show that he, no matter what, is a decent man. I beg him to please shut down Palin before it’s too late. How could we let this happen? Continue reading The Presidential Election is Saddening Me

Great Cost Cutting Tech Tips
Here are some great tips from the Washington Post on how using your technology wisely and perhaps holding off on getting the latest gadgets can save you money. I had to chuckle a little while reading this because they are speaking to a very spoiled and privileged audience. There are people in the US worrying about mortgages and food and this article is babbling about not getting that 10-MP camera just yet. Anyhow, here’s a link. I’ve been wanting to get rid of cable for a while in favor of Internet viewing regardless of our employment situation, but I’ve been scared to ever approach Mr. Kuroneko003 about it. We watch about 4-hrs of TV/week and all the shows we watch are available online. i think, though, that the cable company may tie our modem service to having cable. Sigh … well … as for me, is what I did in the past few months:
- Ended my subscription to Rhapsody
- Power off gaming computers completely rather than leave them in sleep mode when not in use
- Negotiated my iPhone phone rate to the lowest tier of voice service and both a basic SMS plan and try to use e-mail when I can
iPhone: Consequences of not Updating
My phone has been dead for two days. At first I thought the cellular networks were jammed with people freaking out, but it turns out that my iPhone was deactivated because I had not updated it via iTunes. I shudder to think about what could have happened if I were on vacation without a computer to synch the phone up with iTunes. Again … I hate iTunes or maybe this time I hate Apple. I still love my iPhone, though.
Continuing on this theme of IT — I got a new mouse. It’s pink and it works (no way Mr. Kuroneko003 will touch this mouse). I threw the old mouse in the electronics recycling bin at my local Best Buy. They also have a bin to throw old batteries in. Yay! I had a sack of them in the kitchen. Then I bought a copy of “Iron Man” on Blu-Ray. Um … the Blu-Ray software that came with my laptop didn’t seem well integrated. It took about 10-mins for the disc to load and then once it loaded it would not accept mouse input. I don’t know if it is the player software or some really bad Flash programming that’s behind that fun. Either way I was mildly annoyed. Now that I know, I guess I’ll be driving with my keyboard — or perhaps I’m supposed to be using the little remote that came with the computer and/or the DVD player buttons on the laptop itself. Still, I should be able to mouse through the DVD menu!!! AUGH!!!! I also don’t appreciate how HP has integrated itself into the DVD player software. I uninstalled and bought upgraded software using the link given by HP. I didn’t think that it would still be HP badged/tainted. AUGH!!!
What? the World Didn’t End?
In the words of Marvin the Martian, “There was supposed to be a big Earth shattering kaboom.”
Yesterday as the stock market was tanking, the cell networks became nearly unusable. Apparently, people were freaking out and calling one another to tell family members to pull all of their money out of the banks. Haha!!! and do what with it? Nobody wants your dollars ;p. Whatever, … As the world continues to exist despite the financial crisis, I think my damper has kicked in. Continue reading What? the World Didn’t End?
