Warhammer is no Place for Peaceful People

Mr. Kuroneko003:  So, what skills does your witch hunter have?

Kuroneko003:  Shooting and cutting …

Mr. Kuroneko003:  That’s not quite what I meant …

Anyhow, I was playing my witch hunter tonight in the human land and I got to a point where the land around me is contested (just outside of Troll County’s Swamp).  In order to continue my questing I have to get through enemy territory.  I’m a peaceful one, so I really don’t feel like fighting some buffed-up bully.  But bullies being what they are, won’t let me leave my safe haven without a fight. Tried WOW, Now Trying Warhammer

I finally decided to try playing World of Warcraft and I didn’t like it.  I made a female Paladin and set off for adventure.  So basically you walk up to something and right-click on them and sit back as your character and the opponent whack at each other.  Okay … so then I leveled up some and there seemed to be no way to manage my character’s development.  My husband informed me that character development doesn’t come into gameplay until I reach the 10th level and that until then the game is teaching me the interface.  Sigh … give me a break!

So, I’ve decided to try the new MMORPG on the block, Warhammer Online.  It’s slowly downloading after several attempts.  It turns out that you have to turn off all other background processes before the downloader will work … sigh … +10GB … sigh … it should be done sometime this afternoon, barring any freezes of the downloader or our internet connection.

Spore to be Licensed for TV and Movies

Can you name any film or TV show based on a video game that has been worth watching? I can’t. Regardless, media companies keep trying. Enter Spore … I can’t really imagine how this would work short of a reality show in which clips from different people’s games are shown as a string of short films. Whatever …, the reason video games don’t make good TV shows and movies is because viewers can actively engage in the entertainment — it’s all cut-scene, which sucks! Duh??? Here’s a link to the story.
